The third day of the 2025 International Streaming Festival, co-hosted by the Korea International Streaming Festival (co-chairs KIM Bok keun and KIM Seongcheol) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), opened on August 22 and came to a grand finale on August 25.
On the final day, Media & Brand Day featured TVING’s The Great Escape: The Story as well as Life Line—winner of Creative Beyond Border Award at the Global OTT Awards—meeting directly with audiences. In addition, Northward (iQIYI), which triumphed with both the Best Director and People’s Choice Awards, was screened, offering audiences a meaningful opportunity to engage with the celebrated work.
The highlight of the day was the OST Concert: OTT, Streaming, contacT, held at 7 PM at the Outdoor Theater of the Busan Cinema Center. Thousands of audience members filled the venue to enjoy the narrative-based live performances structured around three themes bridging the past, present, and future.
Opening the concert, HONG Isaac captivated the crowd with “My Love by My Side,” (When Life Gives You Tangerines OST, remake version) and “In You” (Our Unwritten Seoul OST), drawing resounding cheers.
He was followed by indie band LUNCH BAND, the original performers of “I Am a Firefly,” which topped the Melon Chart Top 100 after being remade by singer HWANG Garam. Korean glam rock legends EVE then took the stage with their iconic hit “I’ll Be There” (Lovely Runner OST), while singer-songwriter Elaine moved the audience to tears with “Eternal Maze” (Friendly Rivalry) and “Silence of the Night” (Our Unwritten Seoul ending theme).
Closing both the concert and the festival was rock band Nerd Connection, renowned for their distinctive sound and OST contributions to Through the Darkness and Motel California.
As Korea’s only international event dedicated to streaming, the International Streaming Festival has grown beyond its origins as a side program of the Busan International Film Festival to stand as a large-scale independent festival. This year’s event offered a forward-looking stage for media-culture-technology convergence, spotlighting innovations in OTT-driven services and technology.
By showcasing both globally acclaimed works and titles rarely accessible to audiences, the festival continued its journey “To the World of Endless Imagination, and Infinite Streaming — KOREA is STREAMING.”
With the success of this year’s edition, next year’s festival promises to return even stronger, with an even richer and more diverse program designed to reach a wider audience.
